The European Prevention of Alzheimer’s Dementia (EPAD) was very successful in the development of a readiness cohort built on deep participant phenotyping, engaged participant panels, and longitudinal data collection. A platform trial was developed and ready for multiple investigational arms – yet the platform was unable to initiate a first arm in the platform. Professor Ritchie dissents what happened and why the inability for the platform to take off.
