This week, Dr. Scott Berry sits down with Dr. Nathan O'Hara, Dr. Gerard Slobogean, and Dr. Sheila Sprague to discuss MAPT (Musculoskeletal Adaptive Platform Trial), an innovative platform trial in orthopaedic surgery.
MAPT brings Bayesian adaptive design to a field that hasn't traditionally embraced large-scale trials. The first domain, FASTER-HIP, tackles a common clinical dilemma: should minimally displaced hip fractures in older adults be treated with surgical fixation or hip replacement?
