DRAFT FOR REVIEW — NOT PUBLISHED. The cookie tables below record what was actually observed on berryconsultants.com during a technical audit on 3 August 2026, not a generic template. They must be re-verified after the consent banner is installed and after any future change to the Site's scripts or embeds. Requires legal review before publication.
Cookie Policy

Last updated: [to be confirmed]
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on berryconsultants.com, what each one does, and how to control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal information.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences, keep you logged in, and measure how the site is used. We also use related technologies that work the same way, including browser local storage and embedded content that loads from another company's servers. In this policy, “cookies” means all of these.
3. Our approach — we ask first
We do not set any non-essential cookie until you tell us we may. When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Nothing in the Analytics or Media categories below loads until you accept it.
We apply this rule to every visitor, everywhere in the world. Some privacy laws — including those in most US states — would allow us to track you by default and make you opt out. We have chosen not to do that. The same standard applies whether you are in Texas, London, or anywhere else.
You can change your mind at any time. “Your Privacy Choices” in the footer of every page reopens the settings panel.
Declining Analytics and Media cookies does not restrict your access to any content on the Site. We do not use cookie walls.
4. Cookie categories
4.1 Strictly necessary — always active
These make the Site work and cannot be switched off. They do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising.
- Consent record — Berry Consultants (first party). Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page, and evidences the consent you gave. Duration: [24 months — to be confirmed once the consent tool is configured].
- Site operation and forms — Webflow. Delivers the Site, processes contact and enquiry form submissions, and powers site search. Duration: session and persistent.
- _GRECAPTCHA and related — Google (reCAPTCHA). Distinguishes real visitors from automated bots so our contact and software enquiry forms are not abused by spam. Duration: up to 6 months.
- Script and font delivery — jsDelivr, Cloudflare (cdnjs), unpkg, Amazon CloudFront. Deliver the code that makes page layout, animation, and filtering work. No cookies are set, but a request including your IP address is made to these networks.
A note on reCAPTCHA. We treat reCAPTCHA as strictly necessary because without it our enquiry forms would be unusable through spam, and because blocking it would prevent you from submitting a form at all. It is provided by Google and involves sending your IP address and interaction data to Google. If you would rather not use it, contact us by email at info@berryconsultants.com or by phone instead.
4.2 Analytics — only with your consent
These help us understand which pages and resources are useful, in aggregate. We use them for our own reporting. They are not used for advertising and we do not sell or share the data.
- _ga — Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes one visitor from another so visits are not double-counted. Duration: 2 years.
- _ga_3XL83BW77Z — Google Analytics 4. Maintains session state for our specific Analytics property. Duration: 2 years.
- _gcl_ls (browser local storage) — Google. Stores a referral identifier used by Google's tag to attribute a visit to its source. Duration: [persistent until cleared — to be confirmed].
If you decline this category, Google Analytics does not load and none of the above is set.
We also use Webflow's built-in visit statistics, which count page views on a first-party basis and, based on our audit, set no cookies on your device. [TO CONFIRM against Webflow's data processing agreement before publication: whether this counts as strictly necessary or requires consent. If it requires consent it moves into this category and must be gated with the rest.]
4.3 Media and embedded content — only with your consent
Our podcast, webinar, and video pages embed players from other companies. Loading a player means contacting that company's servers, which can set their own cookies.
- Embedly (A Medium Corporation) — podcast and video library pages. Renders the embedded player frames on the page.
- Transistor — podcast episode pages. Hosts and streams our podcast audio.
- YouTube (Google) — software, FACTS, and video pages. Streams our videos. YouTube sets cookies used for viewing preferences and advertising once you press play.
If you decline this category, these players do not load. You will see a placeholder with a link to open the content directly on the provider's own site, where their privacy policy applies.
Planned improvement: we are moving our YouTube embeds to YouTube's no-cookie domain, which stops YouTube setting advertising cookies when you watch. [Implementation item — remove this sentence if not completed before publication.]
4.4 Advertising — we do not use these
We do not run advertising on this Site. We do not use advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not have a Meta pixel, a LinkedIn Insight Tag, or a Google Ads tag on the Site. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes.
5. How to control cookies
On our Site
Use “Your Privacy Choices” in the footer of any page. You can accept or decline each optional category, and change your choice as often as you like. Your choice is remembered on this browser and device; if you use a different browser or device, or clear your cookies, you will be asked again.
We will ask you again after [12 months — to be confirmed] so your choice stays current.
In your browser
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may stop parts of the Site working. Instructions for the major browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Browser-level opt-out signals
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and equivalent browser or extension privacy signals. If your browser sends one, we treat it as a decision to decline all optional cookies, and our banner will confirm on screen that we have recognised and applied it.
Google Analytics specifically
You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent Google Analytics measuring your visits to any website.
6. Third-party cookies and your rights
Where a cookie is set by another company, that company is responsible for its own processing and you have rights against them directly. Their policies:
- Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, YouTube): policies.google.com/privacy
- Webflow: webflow.com/legal/privacy
- Embedly / Medium: medium.com/policy/medium-privacy-policy
- Transistor: transistor.fm/privacy
- Loops: loops.so/privacy
- Make: make.com/en/privacy-notice
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies we use change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the most recent revision. Where changes are significant, we will ask for your consent again.
