Job Opening – Project Manager

Berry Consultants, a growing statistical consulting company that is the world’s leader in the design of innovative adaptive clinical trials, is searching for a Project Manager.  The successful applicant will play a key role in the growth and success of Berry Consultants projects across a world-wide client base that includes pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies, as well as contract research organizations, non-profit patient advocacy groups, government organizations, and academic centers.  The Project Manager’s initial responsibility would include:
  • Coordination of all new projects at the initial client inquiry and request.  This includes setting up initial discussions with the potential client, creating project proposals, and assisting in the formation of a project team.
  • Tracking existing projects and workload across the scientific staff to assist in determining resource availability for new projects and opportunities, and areas where additional assistance may be needed.
  • For selected larger and high profile client projects or government grants that involve multiple statisticians and scientific personnel over several years with specific timelines and deliverables, provide complete project management leadership for the entire project.
  • Handle sporadic client and project demands including grant submissions, client audit requests, periodic business/client/project reports and forms, and any other needs of the client and project teams.
  • Berry Consultants expects this role and responsibility to grow as the Project Manager learns the industry, types of service provided, client relationships, and identifies additional areas of opportunity for project management leadership.  Hence, broader project management, software skills, a demonstrated ability to learn, organize, communicate, and have a passion for changing the world through science is highly desirable.

Qualifications & Essential Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of project management experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, communication, and project planning skills.
  • Project and time management skills to prioritize, coordinate, and highlight key new projects to management that need additional follow-up and/or resources.
  • Ability to dual report for management needs, and prioritize all requests.
  • Needs very little supervision, and has the ability to work and lead cross-functional teams without any subordinates.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical/medical/clinical trial industry.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified.
  • Experience with Project Management software.
  • Experience in client/grant proposal writing.
  • Website design/editing experience.
